About SnakkTrygt
Who is behind SnakkTrygt?
SnakkTrygt was created by Axel Silipo, who lives in Skei and has lived in Norway since 2024. It is an online platform for learning Norwegian, with a general course and a healthcare course, from A1 to B2.
I created SnakkTrygt when I decided to stay in this wonderful country, after realising how essential communication is for integration and everyday life. We are social, communicating beings, so I designed this app as a way to give back to Norway everything it has given me, by helping others lose their fear of speaking.
Why is it called SnakkTrygt?
“Snakk trygt” is Norwegian for “speak safely”, in other words, speak with confidence. That is the goal of the platform: to help you stop being afraid of speaking Norwegian in daily life and at work.
How did he learn Norwegian, and where does the method come from?
Axel is a bioinformatics student and taught himself Norwegian entirely on his own after arriving in the country. Seeing first-hand how much Norway needs qualified professionals and healthcare staff, he decided to combine his technical skills with his own experience of learning the language.
That is why SnakkTrygt does not teach rigid academic theory, but the practical method that actually works for a foreigner who needs to communicate in daily life: sentences you will really use, written by you and corrected instantly.
What does SnakkTrygt offer?
Two courses from A1 to B2: general Norwegian for everyday life, and healthcare Norwegian for nurses, care assistants and other health staff working, or planning to work, in Norway.
Lessons are written practice: you write in Norwegian and get instant AI feedback on grammar and vocabulary, with a score. Each level ends with an exam and a SnakkTrygt certificate with a verification code. The certificate is SnakkTrygt's own and does not replace the official Norwegian test (Norskprøven).
The platform is available in Spanish, Polish and English, and the first 3 A1 lessons are free.
Who is responsible for SnakkTrygt?
SnakkTrygt is run by Axel Silipo as a private individual from Norway. He is responsible for the platform and for its students' data.
